IT Management Consultant - Glasgow

Job Description Summary
Undertaking IT advisory assignments such as:
  • ICT Strategy formulation;
  • Technical Assurance;
  • Independent Reviews/Options Appraisals/Scoping Studies;
  • Feasibility Studies/Business Cases;
  • Shared Services facilitation;
  • Transformation of IT Organisations;
  • Governance of IT;
  • Procurement assistance;
  • Programme and Project Management.
    Undertaking/assisting the bid process for the above, and working on other IT consulting enquiries;
  • Over-seeing significant 3rd-party delivery of solutions and/or services;

Skills
  • Good communicator and can present at Board level, or equivalent - eg Senior Civil Servant (Principal grade);
  • Good people management skills (i.e., is approachable and proactively provides guidance to less experienced staff);
  • Good customer management and client-facing skills;
  • Able to supervise project teams;
  • Experience in resolving difficult project related matters ;
  • Capable of providing valuable input into developing new customers or initiatives;
  • Marketing and Practice Development (Principal grade).
  • Can lead formal presentations;
  • Generates new ideas or initiatives;
  • Develop high internal reputation.
     
Experience
  • Related degree plus 3+ years’ experience of IT Management or delivery of IT Advisory services - internal or external (Consultant);
  • Related degree plus 8+ years’ experience of IT Management or delivery of IT Advisory services - internal or external (Senior);
  • Related degree plus 15+ years’ experience (Principal).
